Featuring the largest engine ever made by Buickwith a staggering 370hp/500tq, 1970 Rivieras are truly underrated.This is an excellent opportunity to own an exceptionally originalRiviera that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatablevalue. This riviera has an excellent history and has been single familyowned since new. We purchased the car from the son of the originalowner. Pictured above is the original invoice showing his dadbought it new from Hagen Buick on February 9th, 1970. He was acareful and thoughtful owner that always took good care of the carover the years. This Buick is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable colorcombination of Emerald Mist Metallic (46) over Green (680)interior. This is the factory original color scheme as verified bythe codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. Pleaseperuse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information in thisad to get a true sense of clean, and original this Buick reallyis. As a side note, this Buick is not a dealer auction vehicle. We handpick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come fromowners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give thevehicle the same care and attention as they did. Exterior The Emerald Mist (46) exterior is in original survivor condition.As one can see in the photos, the finish has good sheen, and smoothfinish. The chrome and other bright work is in great condition forits age. The vinyl top looks very nice. The original wheels are ingreat condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The whitewalltires are brand new. As one would expect for an original paint job,there are tiny blemishes around the car that were too faint to showup in pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable from aboutfive or ten feet away. All the glass on the car is original withthe correct date coding, this helps prove the originality of thecar and that its never sustained any damage over the years. As onecan see in the many photos of the underside of the car it appearsto be totally solid underneath. We have included specific photos ofthe lower quarter panels, rockers, frame, spring perches, and otherareas most prone to rust on this generation Buick to show how cleanthis car is. Interior The Green (680) interior of the Riviera is in outstandingcondition. The seats are in excellent shape with no excessive wearor holes. There are 2 tiny spots in the driver's seat back that canbe seen in the photos. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and thelenses are clear. The chrome and bright work on the inside of thecar looks wonderful. The carpet is also in great condition with nostains, rips, or holes. The original radio works, but only on AM.Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for anaftermarket installation. The dash is in great shape with no fadingor sun damage. The door panels are in good shape overall. Thedriver's door panel is not cracked in the typical spot where thedriver's elbow sits. This car has never been smoked in; there areno burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all. This is one of thebest original interiors we have ever seen in person in a classicBuick and is a true study of how these cars looked from thefactory GM interiors from this era are not known to wear well and theexcellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to themeticulous care and attention this car has received throughout itslife. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in thephotos. The trunk also looks fantastic; the carpet and very fragileoriginal cardboard are in amazing condition. It is complete withthe trunk mat, jack, jack base, bumper hook, and lug wrench/jackhandle. The only exception being the spare tire itself. Mechanical This Buick Riviera seems to be in good mechanical condition and itis ready to be enjoyed. The 455 ci engine starts right away everytime, runs well, and idles smoothly. The car is an exceptionaldriver that feels great on the road and floats down the highway. Inthe video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highwayup to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking tostoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that thereare no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite welloverall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side orthe other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band.There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runscool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment is clean,detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights,wipers, and power windows. All of the gauges work. The blower forthe heater and a/c works on all speeds. One can observe the a/ccompressor clicking on and engaging properly in the video. Thepower seat doesn't move, the switch/motor seems to still have powerthough. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it isto drive this car. Overall Condition Overall, this 1970 Buick Riviera is in amazing survivor condition.This car is particularly rare and extra desirable with the greatownership history, original condition, and the beautiful andstunning color combination. Original and unmolested examples ofclassic Buicks are hard to find and draw a huge premium in thecurrent market. This Buick always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. Itis very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of byits previous owner. The prices of Buick Riviera have increaseddramatically over the past years, especially for premium originalexamples like this car. They are secure and wise investments for acollector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several yearsand sell it for more than the purchase price with minimaleffort. Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car in such greatdetail to give you all of the trim codes, options, photos, andvideo showing the car driving and all of the functions operating.This information is very valuable and important for pricing.
