Up for sale is our late �79 Triumph Spitfire. I made a deal with myself that if this ever sat a full season without being driven and roadworthy, I would sell. This is the same as the �80 model year with the slanted radiator. I�ve had this car since 2016 and have put quite a few miles on it (including a couple of longer road trips and one all the way up to Canada) with it being mostly trouble-free. The Good Overdrive transmission (makes a big difference in these cars)New soft top installed in 2016, seals pretty well. Many of the parts that go bad have been swapped out (master & slave clutch cylinders, alternator & starter, clutch done in 2017, new radiator in 2019, carburetor rebuilt this spring, Has the Weber DGV carb setup with aftermarket (Pacesetter) exhaust manifold Crane Ignition Very complete car (I daily drove this for a significant part of the for the last 6 years)Aftermarket Pioneer stereo & speakers The Bad Something went wrong early this spring that I haven�t had time to fully chase down, so the engine is running rough at the moment. Starts & idles, but would need to be towed back to your garage. I can get it towed up to 100 miles. I believe the head gasket failed, but can't put time into swapping it to find out. Some rust (the car has been either covered or garaged since I�ve had it, but it spent a good deal of its life in the midwest, see pictures). Car has now sat for longer than it ever had prior to this year (due to the above issue), so needs a good cleaning and honestly needs to be driven once you chase down the issue above. Long story short, I have four young children and simply don�t have the time to keep this car roadworthy that I used to and want to make sure someone has it that will enjoy it the way that our family has for the last 6 years.
