The seller explains that he purchased this 30th Anniversary Edition1980 Triumph TR7 Convertible from a "gentleman in Florida who ownedit since 1990." That individual had acquired it "from his formersupervisor, who purchased it new from Royston Distributors Inc., ofDevon, Pennsylvania, on May 2, 1980. Besides having all optionsincluded in the 30th Anniversary Edition, the car was ordered withfactory air conditioning at a cost of $600.00 and alloy wheels for$295.00." He feels that this TR7 presents as a "very originalexample of the rare 30th Anniversary Edition." As much as he'senjoyed the Triumph, he needs to free up space in his garage, soit's being offered for sale. The odometer presently shows 50,202miles. The Triumph TR7 debuted as a coupe in 1974. Its unmistakablewedge shape was the work of British Leyland stylist Harris Mann;Triumph called it "The Shape of Things to Come." The TR7'sengineering was up to date for the period, and interior comfort andergonomics were among the best ever on a Triumph sports car. Opensports car fans were finally catered to when the convertibleversion arrived in 1979. Triumph celebrated its long history ofbuilding sports cars in 1980 with a special 30th AnniversaryEdition of the TR7. These cars included a raft of options like anAM/FM cassette stereo, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and chromeluggage rack, along with other refinements. TR7 production ended in1981.
