This Jeep is ready for weekends full ofexploring two-tracks, dune cruising or just pulling duty as a dailydriver with a rugged image. During the resto-modification process,the original body was replaced with a fiberglass tub, and stillretains the original front-end sheet metal which includes the frontfenders, hood, and trademark Jeep grille. The body was painted adeep burgundy color and the finish shines with a rich luster. Thebumpers have been upgraded with a front double tubular bumper and arock crawler-style rear bumper with a receiver hitch. The hood andwindshield hinges along with the rearview mirrors have beenupgraded with chrome replacements along with a Best Top removablesoft top and frame with soft doors. Inside the Jeep remains for themost part stock appearing; however, the factory hoop roll bar wasupgraded to a full roll bar kit to better protect the driver andpassenger. The front seats have been upgraded to high-back bucketseats and a locking center console complete with cup holders wasadded as well. The factory Speedometer and gauge package are stillintact in the factory steel dash along with the heater andventilation system and controls. Gear selection is handled by afloor-mounted B&M shifter with stock controls for the transfercase. The interior has been coated with a truck bedliner coating toprotect the floors and for ease of clean up. Under the hood sits alightly modified Chevrolet 5.7-liter V8. The engine features aSummit Racing 4bbl carburetor with an electric choke sitting atopan aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake. A GM HEI ignition lightsthe fires in the combustion chamber and the burnt gases flowsmoothly through a set of high-performance headers into a dualexhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. An Edelbrock open-element aircleaner and a set of Chevy Performance chrome valve covers add someadditional bling to the nicely detailed engine compartment. Thishot setup stays cool through an aluminum radiator with factoryshroud and flex fan. Power is transferred through GM 350THM 3-speedautomatic transmission through the stock AMC transfer case. Thestock differentials are in place with the front differential havingmanual lockout hubs. Underneath the chassis has been nicelydetailed and painted in chassis black. The frame is clean with theback half of the frame having been boxed in and strengthened. ThisJeep sports a 4 suspension lift that is further enhanced by a setof 15 Mickey Thompson Alloy wheels wrapped in 33 M/T Baja MTZradial tires. The suspension has been well maintained and includesnew shocks on all four corners and a new steering dampener. PowerSteering makes turning those massive Mickey Thompson tireseffortless, and power-assisted brakes with front discs and reardrums bring this rugged Jeep to a halt with ease. There is no doubtowning a Jeep is more than just owning a fun-to-drive vehicle, itis a lifestyle.
