This 1981 Toyota FJ43 Land Cruiser 4x4 is a long-wheelbase modelthat was not offered in the U.S. market. Restored in Colombia, thisFJ43 was imported to the U.S. for resale in late 2023. The body-offrestoration is said to have touched every part of the vehicle,which gives a near-new appearance in the provided photos. Thevehicle was also equipped with an aftermarket heat and A/C system.Mechanically, the FJ43 was essentially the same vehicle as thebetter-known FJ40, but with a longer wheelbase (95.6 versus 90inches) and an additional 15 inches of length (166 versus 151inches). The added length expanded the rear seating and cargo area.The robust 2F six-cylinder engine, body-on-frame construction, leafspring suspension, and part-time four-wheel drive with dual-rangetransfer case were the same as in the FJ40. This vehicle's odometerwas reset after the restoration, so the mileage shown is believedto be from after its completion. The jaunty FJ43 comes with a softtop, as seen in the photos, and is presented with no needs.
