Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 2008 Land Rover LR3 G4Challenge, one of just four support vehicles built for the 2008Nevada Passage. Owned only by Land Rover enthusiasts, including thepresent owner (who is selling only due to a lack of space due tothe dozen other Land Rovers in his collection). Very clean insideand out - it shows as a vehicle with a fraction of the mileage.Paint meters as original on all panels; original graphics with nonicks or fading. Garage kept. Very clean interior with one smallcrack in the dash being the only flaw to note. Exceptionally dryand rust-free underside. Land Rover sponsored the G4 challenge in 2003 and 2006 as afollow-up to the iconic Camel Trophy, which ran annually from 1980to 2000. Although trials were held for the G4 Challenge set for2009 in Mongolia, Land Rover cancelled the main event in late 2008due to the emerging global financial crisis (and it has not resumedsince). The US qualifiers were held in Nevada in June 2008 in anevent called the Nevada Passage, and Land Rover supplied 10specially-equipped LR3s to participate in the event along with fouridentical support vehicles. All of the G4 vehicles were 2008 LR3 HSEs finished in Alaska Whiteover Ebony leather interior and optioned with the Heavy DutyPackage, Luxury Package and Satellite Radio plus an electric winch,supplemental bumper-mounted lights, skid plates, a roof rack withladder, rear lamp guards and rubber floor mats (and of course aone-of-a-kind graphics package exclusive to this event). Powered bya 4.4 liter Jaguar AJ-V8 mated to a six-speed automatictransmission with full-time four-wheel drive, this LR3 is highlycapable off road thanks to a dual-range transfer case and lockingcenter diff. This Nevada Passage truck remains in mostly stock condition, asidefrom the addition of a snorkel, roof rack lights, front lampguards, Compomotive 18-inch wheels and the Atlantic British coilspring conversion kit (which contains a bypass module that enablesthe terrain modes to function normally). Recent service includesradiator, water pump, thermostat, brakes, electric parking brake,front and rear diff fluid flush, transfer case flush, transmissionpan and fluid change, control arm bushings, and belts andhoses. Rare opportunity to own a piece of Land Rover and off-roadinghistory, with this truck being one of only 14 built. Originalbooks, two factory remote keys, and extensive service recordsaccompany the sale.
