I'm gonna need at least 400hpto get the kids toschool. -Thx Car and Driver For consignment, from the last year of the Pontiac Motor Division'sexistence comes the most powerful car in the line up in the form ofa 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP 4 door sedan. The one sparkles with a mere7,802 title verified original miles, was 1 of only 1,829 made and 1of 169 bathed in Sport Red Metallic. Yes, they are not making thisone anymore so it's ripe for the picking, and you can go fast in 4doors. Gone like a freight train, gone like yesterday, gone like asoldier in the civil war...bang bang. ExteriorAggressive aero would be the mantra for this car. It starts withthe split BMW-esque grille with the arrow on the rounded over beakand then in the lower valance even more openings in the center anda fog light on the corner. On the upper corners, aero insetheadlights which wrap around the front quarters. The hood has dualwhale blowhole openings and the front quarter edges anotheropening, breathe it in! A swept back raked windscreen melts into avery rounded over roofline which still uses some chromed edging forthe glass and has a rarely optioned power glass sunroof. The gapsare nearly perfect as is the Sport Red Metallic paint. This paintis coated by Ceramic Pro topreserve that miles deep shine. Thisaero roofline gently lands on the trap trunk deck which sports asmall spoiler on top and we see some more aero tail and backuplighting making the corner at each rear quarter. A neoprene bumperis below with a diffuser and dual dual exhaust underneath. The carrides on polished 19-inch wheels and all wrapped up by 245/40ZR19rubber. InteriorOnyx Black prevails on the sculpted door panels with satin silveraccents peppering them. Onyx leather covers the high back highheadrests bucket seats with a white embroidered GXP in theiruppers. The seats are barely used and there are two more in bay ona 2 plus 2 bench. A nice console runs by these buckets and ends atthe dash but not before showing off some window toggles, a mirrortouchpad and the sporty shifter with a leather boot. Severalbuttons for the seat heaters and traction control are here as well.Just above in the center rise are the climate control knobs and aBlaupunkt AM/FM/CD with a touch screen EQ, Bluetooth and XM capablestereo. Under the crescent shaped dash hood are 4 round gauges 2large and 2 small and a center red LED readout panel. The factoryrally style wheel fronts the crescent. Clean plush charcoal graycarpeting floods the floors and above is a tight headlinersurrounding the sunroof. DrivetrainUnder the hood is a 6.2 liter LS3 V8 capable of 415hp. It has EFIand a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. A 3.70-Posi rear ison. The dual exhaust is original equipment. UndercarriageAll showroom with independent Macpherson struts for the font andindependent coil springs for the back. Power disc brakes all aroundwith the fronts being Brembo. Drive-AbilityThis car upon fire up sprang right to life with a menacing burbleand I knew I was in for a treat. It ran like the wind and handledlike a bullet train. Lots-o-power for sure! All functions wereworking like a charm.
