The SSR is one that isdestined to be a future collectible. The car debuted at the Detroitauto show in 2000 and the reaction was immediate, with customersrunning into their local Chevy dealership to reserve their spot inline for the concept that was soon to become a reality in 2003. GMgreen-lighted the concept with a few modest changes to the concept,but the biggest letdown was the engine and transmission. Fast forward to 2005 and Chevyturned up the performance with the Corvette-based 6.0L and theavailability of the 6spd manual transmission. Now with 390HP and a0-60 time of 5.5 seconds, this vehicle had the looks, power, andrarity.
