This 1961 Plymouth Fury is a two-door hardtop model that was first sold by Austin Auto in Minnesota, and it remained with its original owner until his passing in 1977. The car is said to have been subsequently stored for over 30 years before it was exported to Germany in 2018, and it was acquired by the seller in April 2020. The car is finished in white over red vinyl and cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 318ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power-assisted steering, a dual exhaust system, an AM radio, an RCA Victor Auto Victrola record player, and a heater. Work since the seller's acquisition included fluid services, a tune-up, and replacement of the front brake shoes, exhaust manifold gaskets, and a power steering hose. This Fury is now offered in Luxembourg with an owner's manual, original purchase paperwork, service records dating to 1961, historical photos, a spare set of bias-ply whitewall tires, and Luxembourg registration.The Fury was redesigned in 1961 and offered in five different body configurations, and this two-door hardtop example was delivered from the factory in Alpine White (525). The seller states that the sides below the beltline trim were repainted in 2010 to address flaws, and the headlights were replaced following the car's exportation to Germany. Features include chrome bumpers and tail light nacelles, raised decklid trim, a “Sky-Hi” rear window, a left-side mirror, an antenna, and an egg crate grille.Steel 14″ wheels are fitted with chrome covers and mounted with 205/75 Maxxis radial tires, and a set of replacement bias-plywhitewall tires are included in the sale. A matching spare wheel with a Goodyear bias-ply tire is stowed in the trunk. The car was equipped from the factory with power steering, and a replacement power steering pressure hose was installed following the seller's acquisition along with replacement front brake shoes.The cabin features an “Asymmetrical Command” front bench trimmed in red vinyl with color-coordinated striped cloth inserts and white accents. Black carpets line the floors, and additional features include an AM radio, an RCA Victor Auto Victrola record player, a heater, a dashboard-mounted mirror, and front and rear lap belts.The squared-off Aero Wheel frames a Teleview 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Total mileage is unknown.The 318ci V8 features a Carter two-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 230 horsepower. The front of the engine is said to have been resealed during prior ownership, and the seller had the exhaust manifold gaskets replaced. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. A replacement fuel tank was reportedly installed in 2010, and the car is equipped with a dual exhaust system.
