Description:

Here are some specifics I was told by a couple of neighbors who are classic car fanatics. I've also worked on enough cars when I was younger to know some of what to look for. This beast sat in a garage since 1993 without being driven. I did a tune-up on it in 2001 and it ran perfectly. A couple of weeks ago, I changed the battery and the engine turned over after the third try. My wife pulled it out onto the street so we'd have the garage for packing space. No problems with it moving or stopping. Here are the specs, along with the work that needs done:* 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme* 350 cubic-inch V8 Rocket engine* 19,317 miles, (odometer has never turned over once, and it hasn't beenaltered)* Forest green body with olive green vinyl hard-top. The vinyl is inexcellent shape with no tears or cracks, and just needs a good cleaning.* The interior is immaculate with no tears in upholstery; the carpet andlining is in amazing shape with no dry-rot. * Floorboards are solid with no rust or weak spots. One of my neighbors double-checked underneath and said the frame is ingreat shape for a car this old. I didn't see any weak spots or framerotting either.* Power-steering works fine and doesn't need any realignment.* Electrical system is fine. One of the headlights burned out while wewere testing everything.* The left side of the car looks good with no apparent rust or dents.* The bottom edges of all of the panels look good with no dents or rustspots, except for the right rear panel. The chrome trim had come off andthe edge of the panel (where the chrome was) is rusted. My car-buff neighbor says it could be repaired without replacing the whole panel.I still have the chrome trim however.* The trunk is completely dry with no rust or weak spots.* The automatic transmission is fine and shifts smoothly with no"catches" when manually shifted.* The major problem with the car is that car was pulled into the garagetoo far & the front end was pushed in about 6-8 inches. The right front fender has a dent in it that needs pulled out & touchedup.* It has all of the original rims & hubcaps, however the tires that wereon the back went flat, so my step-son put on a pair from a different carand it seems to be holding up.* Brakes seem fine, but they're not power-brakes.* There is a hairline crack in the windshield, (about 8 inches long) onthe passenger's side, but it's not spread out.* AM radio with FM converter only.* No air-conditioning.* It needs inspected and registered. The VIN is so old that it's not even on record anymore.
