Used 1979 Ford F-250 39,000 miles
Oak Lawn, IL
I'm selling my '79 F-250 "Good Vibrations" ShowTruck. This truck was bought by me brand new in 79, special-ordered in black with every possible option available at the time and then some. It took 3 months to get and was one of and maybe the last F-250 4x4 built for '79 as it was built on May 26th of that year the last day right before they switched over to making the 1980 trucks. VIn ends in 2651. It was built at the Louisville Ford truck plant in Kentucky. This truck was highly modified by me in the very early 1990's because that was the thing to do at the time with over 32 major modifications including a 3" body lift, full-tilt bed and a one piece tilt frontend with a custom 1976 Ford LTD grille, quad factory headlamps and a louvered steel airdam but could fairly easily be put back to stock with a fresh front clip and some effort of a mechanically inclined person.. I still have many of the original parts to go with it including original paperwork from the dealership, a full mint 4-volume manuals set and misc. moldings, trim and emblems, etc. It has been stored in a brick temperature controlled heated attached garage all it's life and only has 39K original pampered miles and NO RUST ANYWHERE , EVER !!!! YOU COULD EAT OFF THE BOTTOM OF THIS TRUCK, IT'S THAT CLEAN UNDERNEATH. The truck has a candy apple red frame with yellow pinstripes and a chrome plated suspension, suitable for a Barrett-Jackson undercarriage viewcam if you ever watched one on TV. It also has molded steel and fiberglass fender flares, 100 louvers punched in the front fenders and airdam by Chris Caramasinis funnycar shop here locally, also has shaved door handles, custom black and red velour diamond tufted interior and wood overhead and center consoles with custom lighting, 6 way power swivel seats and power windows with limo tint glass, a wood floor in the bed with custom cabinets, a separate rear stereo system, a crawl-thru "HopCap" brand sleeper cab bed topper and a custom hand painted lighted mural on the tailgate. A custom-made T-Top roof with a simulated convertible top. Paint is custom multi-colored House of Color candy-apple lacquer with a rainbow flake multi-color metalflake mixed into the clearcoat. You litterally need sunglasses to look at this truck in the sunlight as the metalflake paint reflects the sun's rays in all different colors and hues. Engine is a Hi-Perf. built 351-Modified and all chromed out as is the complete suspension and the complete chrome custom dual exhaust too. firewal and underhood panels are polish aluminum. Tranny is the stock T-18 4 spd with a chrome shifter handle and a 24K gold shift knob,, axles are the factory stock Heavy-Duty Dana 60's with 4:10 gears and are limited slip on front and rear. This truck has a lot of power and can smoke all 4 tires in 4wd and look good while doing it... A great candidate to restore back to stock or drive as is. A real head-turner and a First Place Show Winner wherever it shows, hands down. Kills the competition every time. Has had 4 best of show awards and has been on TV and in print. has had celebrity TV stars sitting in truck at the Chicago World of Wheels car show in the 1980's. It comes with a host of display mirrors for underneath the truck at shows and a mirrored sign. has factory dual gastanks with Bart Simpson hand-painted on the front tank but backwards so you can see him and read it in the display mirror's reflection. A TOTAL ONE-OFF SHOW PIECE. If you like attention and attention to detail, this is the ultimate truck for you. More photos and/or more info available upon request but serious ONLY Please. No Tire Kickers or Dreamers. I'm moving, downsizing and losing storage soon so no reasonable offer refused. Might trade for Ford or Mercury Convertible of similar value but prefer a cash sale. Truck is located and stored just outside of Chicago.
