(O) 516-729-2003 (F) 631-389-2605 - This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL For Sale Convertible features a 2.5 Liter Inline 6 cyl cyl Gasoline engine. It is equipped with a 3 Gear Automatic transmission. The vehicle is Burgundy with a Tan Leather seats. - 1967 MERCEDES BENZ 250 SL CONVERTIBLE IN BEAUTIFUL BURGUNDY WITH TAN INTERIOR, WITH BOTH TOPS OUT OF SUNNY FLORIDA THAT IS TURN-KEY AND READY TO CRUISE! SHARP CRUISER THAT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. This is a 250 SL convertible, which is different from the normal US Version 230SL with the slightly smaller motor. These 250SLs are European bred, and are generally considered to be a bit more reliable and more powerful than the fully US version 230SLs, so please keep that in mind. As far as value, they are closer to the 280SLs. The car comes from sunny Florida, where it has been collector owned and lovingly pre-owned for the past few years, and stored in a heated garage throughout this time. Previous owner pre-owned it a couple of times a week to go to work in town and back. Lots of service work has been done on it, including a complete valve job in late 2007 ($3500), brake overhaul and new tires in 2009, upgraded flame-thrower ignition and magnet point system to prevent stalling in 2010, along with new battery, exhaust and muffler. I have a service manual and LOTS of receipts in a binder that are included with the car, and if you know these cars you'll know that's as good as gold! Interior is in FANTASTIC condition with minor general wear here and there. Seats were just reupholstered so they are in NEW condition. Carpet is old but fairly presentable, although could use replacing. Dash is nice with normal wear on the wood sections as you would expect. Door panels in great shape with minor wear. Nice steering wheel with minimal cracks. Sunvisors need replacing-reupholstering. Convertible top is in fair shape with clear plastic window, worn at the sides with 1 tiny dime sized hole. Hardtop is very good with some discoloration and a couple of small rips in the inner headliner. Overall a nicely presentable driver quality interior! Under the hood, the car has the stock 2.5 Liter Inline 6 cyl motor with automatic transmission that have been kept virtually all stock except for the upgraded ignition. Starts easily and sounds great . Good stock power overall and brakes stop WELL. Nice and solid throughout. Steering is nice and nimble without too much play in it. Transmission shifts well but you have to let off the gas to shift it to the higher gear when in Drive (has been driven like this for years and hasn't been an issue). Very fun to drive and you can hop in and drive it. I've driven it mostly around town here and there, a few times on the highway on the way to a local cruise night or show, never on any long trips. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up NICELY with GOOD luster for a presentable driver (NOT a showcar ). Some minor imperfections here and there from use as you would expect like small chips-minor touch-ups-tiny scratches and the like throughout the car. Body is relatively clean and straight, with a couple of bubbles by the rear passenger side wheel well and a couple by the corners where the trunk closes (above the taillights), otherwise cleans up well. Not working: tach, radio (turns on and makes sounds but doesn't go in station), horn, clock, vents (haven't tried them), may need a bulb or 2 replaced here and there. 1 rear bumper corner has pitting throughout. Front bumper has pitting and some small rust spots when you get up close. Front driver's side headlamp bezel has small crack. Trunk pan has a few pinholes but solid rear shock towers. Floorboards have had prior fiberglass repair in the past and are solid but not perfect. Hood propeller doesn't hold when all the way up. That's about all I was able to notice from my inspection. I am sure there are other tiny details i've forgotten so please keep that in mind, this is NOT a brand new car obviously. I CANNOT DESCRIBE EVERY SINGLE THING WRONG WITH A 40+ YEAR OLD CAR, SO PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. OVERALL IT'S A SHARP LOOKING 1967 MERCEDES BENZ 250 SL CONVERTIBLE KILLER COLOR COMBO, LOW MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND LOTS OF MONEY INVESTED THAT IS READY TO BE DRIVEN OR TAKEN UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL! - - Leather seats Surface - Contact Michael Runnalls at 631-339-0399 or (click to respond) for more info. -
