I’m selling my 1939 Model 41 Bob Tail Buick Series 40-Special.The car is about 90% restored. I’m told it was sold to 2 sistersin Chambersburg, Pa when it was new. It was then sold to agentleman also in Chambersburg,Pa. The owner of Harman’sfurniture in Chambersburg, Pa purchased it from the gentle-man and latter sold it to me which makes me the 4th owner.I moved from Chambersburg, Pa and brought the car with meto Fl.The car is believed to have had 84,000 miles on it before Ihad the engine rebuilt. Most of the nuts, bolts, screws andwashers were replaced with high grade replacements with afew stainless steel fasteners also being used. The chrome thatwas redone was done with showroom chrome by a shop inHarrisburg, Pa. The radiator needs to be replaced. It was repaired three timesbut is no longer useful. The gas tank was cleaned and sealedtwice but it also needs to be replaced. Last time the car was outit would not go over 40 mph with out missing and bucking. Whilethe vacuum advance was replaced I think that could be the problem.Title has an error on it as it states the year as 1938. The car is infact a 1939. I’m not sure if that will be a problem to get corrected. The purchaser WILL title the car in their name. I will not sign thetitle over without the purchaser getting a title in their name.The car was featured in a one page article in AutoWeek on Jan.11, 2010 and appears on page 33 of the magazine. I’ve attachedsome current photos. I used a print from Yahoo.com and placedit on sections of the car so you know the photos are current. Alsoincluded are some photos of the restoration.
