It was introduced in 1940 as an exclusive, luxurious, handcrafted automobile for the status conscious consumer. The early Continental was recognized by the Museum of Modern Art as 1 of eight automotive works of art and by Time magazine as 1 of the top ten best-designed commercial products. The post-war design was a continuation of the short-lived 1942 model but with a heavier grille. Continentals continued to be a top-of-the-line automobile and were highly desired after the war. The vehicle was prepared for CCCA showing and won a senior 1st prize, the vehicle is road worthy and has completed many trips throughout southern California including a trip from LA to Pebble Beach for the Lincolns 70th Anniversary meet, LA to Palm Springs Concours where the car placed 2nd, and from LA to the San Marino Classic where the car also was garnished with a top award. The vehicle has since been freshened up, has beautiful paint, nice interior and everything is in working order. The vehicle is fully loaded with all power accessories and includes optional overdrive.
