1949 Willys Jeepster
Used 1949 Willys Jeepster 43,466 miles
This 1949 Willys-Overland Jeepster is a restored example powered by a 148ci inline-six paired with a 3 gear manual transmission with overdrive. Around 19,000 of the phaeton-bodied Jeepsters were produced during a three-year model run, and a little over 650 were equipped with the optional 6 cyl motor. The yellow and black finish is an older repaint, and notable blemishes include a scratch on the passenger’s front fender, a few small dings on the driver-side door and front wing, and slight misalignment of the doors. Exterior glass is said to show no pitting or cracks, and the brightwork is a mixture of replacement components and polished original pieces, which show some light patina. Bias-ply whitewall tires and chrome center caps were standard equipment, and a spare is mounted to the rear of the body. The T-shaped grille trim and bumper guards were extra-cost options. The black fabric top is lined with red piping and shows some fading and haze on the vinyl rear window. Removable plastic side curtains seal the interior from weather. The refurbished interior features a vinyl upholstered split bench in the front, and a central gauge cluster with a 70mph speedometer. An aftermarket water temp gauge and an aux toggle switch have been mounted below the body-matched dash. Seatbelts are equipped for the driver and front passenger. 43,466mis are shown, and total mileage is unknown.
