This restomod 1956 Chevrolet Nomad Station Wagon is “an original, rust-free California car that was restored in 2002,” the seller says. It's currently equipped with a supercharged small-block; an automatic overdrive transmission; aftermarket A/C; interior upgrades; suspension, steering, and brake mods; and more aggressive rolling stock. He adds, “It’s not a SEMA show car, but it’s beautiful and can be driven anywhere.” The seller is assisting the owner of the vehicle, with her approval, to get the vehicle listed online. “The owner was a friend and colleague for 50-plus years,” he recalls. “He passed away a year ago, and his wife asked me to sell the car for her.” FEATURES Its four-bolt-main Chevrolet 355-cu.in. OHV V8 is equipped with a B&M supercharger.Also fitted is a Holley carb, a solid-roller cam, headers, custom dual exhausts, and an MSD ignition.An aluminum radiator, flex fan, and several underhood visual upgrades are also present.A B&M shifter commands a 700-R4 four-speed overdrive automatic transmission.Out back, a Ford 9-inch limited-slip rear axle with 3.73:1 gears was bolted in, the seller says.No body damage has been reported for this vehicle.Matador Red and Shoreline Beige two-stage paint is on the Nomad.Both colors were offered in 1956, but they aren’t the original hues for this car.The headlights were upgraded.Inside is custom brown leather upholstery with tweed seat inserts, according to the seller.An aftermarket gauge set and an Alpine stereo system were installed.Power windows are controlled by the window cranks.The front seat has power assist, and a tilt column was installed.The front suspension features Jim Meyer-built tubular control arms and an upgraded anti-roll bar.An aftermarket power rack-and-pinion steering system was swapped in.New power front disc brakes were installed, and drums are out back.An anti-roll bar was added in the rear.Cragar SS wheels roll on 15-inch BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. COMES WITH Some before and in-process photos of the build are included in the sale.So too, is a California car cover. NEEDS The top of the passenger's-side door panel is incorrectly installed or missing trim.
