1956 Ford F350 Stake Bed Dump Truck
Financing:
Summary:
Used 1956 Ford F-350 55,000 miles
Location:
Cogan Station, PA
Description:
The wraparound windshield that augmented Ford’s classic design, which dated to 1953, was a signature style element of Ford’s 1956 light truck line. This 1956 Ford F350 Stake Bed, in Custom Cab trim with a tilting dump body, typifies one of those 1956 trucks. Described as a onetime farming vehicle acquired through an estate sale, the F350 has an odometer reading of less than 55,000 miles that the seller says is accurate, and which is backed up by the odometer reading on the truck’s 2018 Pennsylvania title. The F350’s tipping body is apparently in functional condition, and the cab’s bench seat looks to have been reupholstered in new vinyl. The F350 is reported to retain its original paint, engine, and to have “surface rust” present. POWERTRAIN This F350 is powered by Ford’s 272-cu.in. OHV V8. With a compression ratio of 7.8:1, the engine received its fuel mixture via a two-barrel carburetor and was rated by the manufacturer at 167 horsepower when new, with 260 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes that this F350’s engine is original to the truck, with no rebuild history. The seller says the engine “starts right up and runs beautifully.” The manual transmission is termed “awesome” and reportedly “shifts smoothly.” Oil drips are cited as powertrain leaks. Per its body tag, the F350 has 4.86:1 rear gearing. The engine bay shows grime and surface corrosion in a variety of places. EXTERIOR The seller reports that the green paint is original to the truck and has “patina,” with fading and discoloration evident. As to blemishes, the seller cites “normal wear and tear.” The cab seals are said to be effective at preventing water leaks. The seller states that the F350 has “surface rust” but that he is unaware of any past body repairs. The tipping stake body is said to be functional and appears to be in good overall condition. The body shows no outward damage, although the F350’s running boards are wavy. The glass is termed “good,” with a cracked driver’s-side vent window reported. All lights are said to work, except for inoperative taillamps. The F350 is also fitted with fender-top turn indicators that the seller says are functional. Based on the photos, the underside appears to be acceptably clean, with surface rust visible on the springs, frame, and other components. INTERIOR The seller believes that the F350’s bench seat has been reupholstered, with the tan vinyl materials showing no tears or other damage. The floor has a rubber mat that looks to be in good shape. The seller reports a sagging headliner, which has dome lighting. The seller believes that the cab’s factory trim and small controls are complete. The steel dashboard presents as clean and is augmented by an aftermarket temperature gauge. The seller makes no statement about instrument functionality. There is radio and no air conditioning, but the heater reportedly works. CHASSIS The date of the F350’s most recent chassis service is unknown. The seller notes “tight” manual steering and is unaware of any component damage or functional issues. According to the seller, the manual drum brakes “work good.” The steel disc wheels apparently present no problems at 55 mph. The tires’ age is unknown, and DOT date codes are not visible in the images provided. DOCUMENTATION The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Pennsylvania title in his name. This 1956 Ford F350 Stake Bed Truck has a tilting dump body, V8 power, and an odometer reading of less than 55,000 miles that the seller says is accurate.
