1956 MERCEDES-BENZ 300C – ALL ORIGINALThe 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 C Adenauer (W186) represents the German automotive excellence from the mid-20th century. The 300-series models were never intended for production in large numbers and were hand-built luxury cars to demonstrate that Mercedes-Benz was back to the top. Mercedes-Benz produced only 1,429 300C models between 1955-1957. The 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300C, often affectionately referred to as the "Adenauer" after West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, epitomizes luxury, craftsmanship, and performance. Technologically advanced, the 300 was regarded as a "driver's" car, sharing numerous design innovations and mechanical components with the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gullwing", including engine, suspension, and chassis.This never molested Mercedes-Benz 300C is in rare all original condition, including power train, interior, paint, original Instruction Manual, Becker Radio and Warranty books. Owned by the same person for more than 40 years, this impressive vehicle was acquired by us to be preserved, considering its rare original condition. This amazing 300 was found sitting in the same garage, covered and untouched for 43 years. It was a true “barn find” and a phenomenal and fully documented rescue.After bringing the “Adenauer” to our Restoration Center, the identification plates and numbers were checked, bringing the confirmation that the engine and transmission are factory original, making this Mercedes an even more rare example, worthing all the efforts of saving it. The transmission was completely rebuilt, and it is ready to be installed. The 3.0-liter inline-six engine was completely disassembled by RB Collection’s technicians, having its main components restored or commissioned new. The block was cleaned, tested and rebored. New custom pistons were made to order and a restored head as well as new rings were acquired. Crankshaft was inspected and proved to be in excellent shape, being polished for re-assembly. The main engine components are all restored and prepared, ready for re-assembly.The exterior of this 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 C Adenauer is a sublime example of classic automotive design. The car's body boasts the clean, elegant lines typical of Mercedes-Benz’s post-war vehicles. The car retains all original body panels, perfectly lined up, presenting factory original gaps and original trim gaskets, as well as shining and dent-free chromed trim. There are two visible points of rust located at the bottom of both rear lower part of door jams (dog legs) and a dent on the rear bumper and trunk lid. Aside from these specific areas, there are no signs of corrosion. The undercarriage is in good condition, still presenting the factory marks in the suspension components, proving its impressive originality, and its incredible preservation in the last 51 years. The original black paint was revitalized in the hood, roof and trunk areas, presenting some flaws, but still showing impressive depth and an incredible gloss finish.The vehicle’s interior is impressively original, including the radio. The leather interior is very well preserved as well as door panels and all knobs, cranks and handles. The Gauges are wonderful and the carpet is still original as well as the headliner. Windows and doors work flawlessly with no noises or jams.
