Description:
This was an uncompleted restoration when I acquired 2+ years ago. It had sat for several years in a California garage. The result was a trashed interior, frozen engine, and a brake system that needed complete renewal. I replaced the MK 1�948 cc engine with a 1098 (10CC) . Engine oil pressure are 40 psi at idle and 60 psi at cruise speed. Cylinder pressures are all at 155 with minor variations. A bench checked with case transmission was installed with shifts and drive smoothly. SU carburetors have been replaced with a Weber two barrel unit. A Petronix electronic ignition has been installed as well. The carburetor and ignition upgrade results in instant starting and very smooth running. A new master cylinder along with wheel cylinders, brake shoes and hardware have also been installed. Mazda Miata seats and new carpet has been installed. Paint is two step polyurethane with the second coat in a matte finiish My goal in finishing this project was to have a very enjoyable �driver� and that�s what it is. There are some things that need to be addressed. The windshield wipers and tachometer are not operable and the heater needs to be installed.
