1964 Ford Econoline Pickup Teal
Used 1964 Ford Econoline 31,000 miles, Green
This 1964 Ford Econoline pickup is one of 988 made. It is the five window series. There were two body codes for this year of pick up, 87A and 87B. 87A was the three window series which Ford made 4,196 models. 87B is the five window series which is listed in this listing. Ford only made 988 models of the 87B custom series. Some of them had bumpers and some didnt. The models that didnt have rear bumpers allowed the truck to be pre-owned for pick up and deliveries making it easy to load and unload easier with the tail gate being able to swing down at a 180 degrees. Some models came with a 3 gear transmission. An upgrade option was the 4 gear transmission. My truck I am selling comes with a 4 gear on the tree. TRUCK HISTORY - I purchased this truck from a gentleman here in Montana that has owned it for the last 40+ years. I am the third owner of this truck. He kept it in his barn with the intention of restoring it, but had way to many cars and never got around to this one. He kept it running and didnt let it decay. It was in superb shape given the age and what these trucks look like normally before they are restored. It had some surface rust here and there, but nothing cancerous. I was amazed when I started to dig into it to find out this Econoline is 100% stock. If you appreciate classic cars as much as me then you understand that stock is extremely rare these days. Mainly because parts can become obsolete and if you dont have the parts then your hand is forced to make it custom and not original. This pickup still even has the original generator which was just rebuilt at $600. WORK COMPLETED - I wanted to bring this truck back to its original look. The colors are a two tone from Fords 1962-1967 color chart. I chose to make this truck look beachy. I surf and of course there is nothing better then driving down the road and seeing vintage vehicles with surfboards on them or hanging out of them.
