In May 1986, the seller’s father bought this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible from a dealer in New Hampshire. It had come from Florida and was believed to have a 327 engine, but it was later learned the small-block was a later 307 V8. It was replaced with a professionally built 350 and the car was enjoyed until the father’s death in 1996. The seller inherited the car and had the engine rebuilt in 2005. An electrical issue sidelined the car for a few years, starting in 2008, but the seller has since had the car repaired and returned to the road. It appears in good driver condition. “The car is in solid mechanical shape and runs and drives well,” says the seller. FEATURES The 350-cu.in. OHV V8 engine was originally built in the late Eighties and rebuilt in 2005.It has a Holley four-barrel carburetor and a complete MSD ignition system.The engine is paired with a Muncie four-speed transmission, which is used with a Hurst shifter.Engine power is transferred through the gearbox and to a 3.70-geared rear axle.The Nassau Blue exterior color was repainted in 1989 and the finish is said to be good.Some paint chips are noted on the doors, but there are no additional reported blemishes.The body itself is said to be in good shape, while the chassis shows some surface corrosion.The blue vinyl interior also appears in good condition, but with some wear here and there.A couple of the seats’ seams show some pulled threads, but there are no holes or rips.There no cracks or discoloration in the door panels or dash pad.There is also some worn paint on some of the interior trim and the seat belt buckles.All the gauges are said to work, but the clock does not.The original AM/FM radio also works, but the power antenna is stuck in the retracted position.The car has power brakes and manual steering. The steering box was rebuilt in 2023.In 2022 the brakes were redone with new calipers, rotors, pads, hoses, and the master cylinder.The suspension was rebuilt in 2022, while a new fuel tank and new tires were installed.Also in 2022, the wiring harness behind the dashboard was replaced. COMES WITH Invoices and details of the car’s recent service and repairs are included.Copies of the invoices are available for viewing with the photos.The Florida title signed over by the dealer in 1986 is also included.A stock distributor and stock-type chrome shielding is available. NEEDS The clock doesn’t work.The power antenna is stuck in the down position. OVERVIEW This C2 Corvette roadster was purchased by the seller’s father nearly 40 years ago.Its replacement 350 V8 engine was rebuilt in 2005 and is said to run well.A Hurst-shifted Muncie four-speed transmission is linked to the engine.The exterior wears an older respray and the interior shows moderate wear.In the past couple years there has been significant work on the brakes, suspension, and more. DOCUMENTATION As New Hampshire does not issue titles for vehicles of this age, the seller states that this vehicle will be sold on the proper document in his name for transfer of ownership. With a long history in the same family and extensive recent service, this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is said to be mechanically strong and in good-running condition.
