It started as a grand plan to build 30 unique 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 convertibles to mark 7-Up’s sixtieth anniversary, but the promotional partnership between Ford and 7-Up fell apart after only a couple cars were built. Not wanting to let a good idea — and a unique paint color — go to waste, Ford forged ahead and introduced the car as its own Limited Edition model. It included the distinctive Deep Emerald Green color and a white leather interior. The “turbine” wheels from the GT completed the package ; 4,103 were produced. They’ve become known as the 7-Up cars, and this example is said to be in good, stock condition, but showing some wear. “The car drives and rides perfectly,” says the seller. FEATURES The 5.0-liter OHV V8 is believed to be original and is rated at 225 horsepower.It is paired with an AOD four-speed automatic transmission.Additional drivetrain details include a 2.73-geared limited-slip rear axle.The engine is said to start easily and run well, with no known leaks.The transmission is also said to perform well, but with a slight hesitation when shifting in to Drive.A respray of the Deep Emerald Green exterior color is believed to have occurred.Per the seller, the finish is in very good condition, with no known blemishes or swirls.There’s no known rust in the body.The convertible top is said to work normally, but leaks a bit at the header in hard rain.All the glass and seals are said to be in great condition.The white leather interior appears in good condition, but the seat show wear and cracks.All the interior trim pieces are intact and all the gauges work, according to the seller.The power windows and locks also work, but the air conditioning does not.The original radio was replaced with a Sony head unit with Bluetooth capability.The front struts, rear shocks, rear springs and rear bushings have been replaced.According to the seller, the brakes have been inspected and are in good condition.The original 15-inch “turbine” wheels are reported to be in good shape.
