This is an iconic Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon.Rare, one of a kind, professionally built, every nut and bolt, from the ground up in 2015. A full year In construction and over $150k invested.She is a great daily driver with under 14k miles since the build.The idea for the build was to create a classic Defender 110 specifically for a corrosive environment - an island in the Bahamas / Caribbean. So we started with a Galvanized Richards Chassis. Used stainless steel everywhere possible including the fasteners. Then powder coated the aluminum parts.Keeping it low maintenance and simple, we chose manual windows and door locks, with sliding windows in the back.The Land Rover 300 TDI turbo diesel makes the perfect engine…. Durable, simple, tried and true, low maintenance, field serviceable, readily available parts, can run on multiple fuel including questionable diesel fuel that you might find in the islands. It can even run on used cooking oil if necessary. You can find these in use literally around the world. The Defender series is the military vehicle of choice in most of the world.Luxuries…. We did splurge and put heated seats in the front and back in addition to a heated windshield and Air Conditioning. Also, cup holders and 12v power outlets in the front, stainless flip down cup holders in the back. The large front center console / arm rest is metal and lockable. The Fusion system provides the entertainment.The rear cargo area is accessed from the rear swing open door which is complete with a wiper, defogger and rear work light above the door.. It was built as a dog kennel with a bulkhead between the cargo and passenger areas which allows you to wash out the back without getting the front passenger area wet. There are fixed security screens inside the sliding rear windows which allow for fresh air without jeopardizing your dog’s safety. In front of the truck, we used a newer, larger grill which allows for the air conditioning auxiliary fan. Below the grill is a Warn winch with synthetic winch rope mounted up behind the bumper - clean, out of the way yet very functional. The winch controller connection is on the front right wing, within easy access for the driver. The running and signal lights are all LED. Both front wings are equipped with 5 bar Wing Protectors - you can literally walk on them. The truck is equipped with a Snorkel kit for water crossings. Each side is protected with Rock Sliders and flip up steps. Welded under the front bumper are two tow bar clips which allow the truck to be quickly and easily towed behind another vehicle - like an RV.The rear has the step bumper with tow hitch insert and trailer light connections. The rear suspension has adjustable air bags. This coupled with the disk brakes all around make for a great tow vehicle. Also, the mud flaps all around help to protect anything being towed.Off Road. The truck is a true Land Rover which means a beast off road. Upgraded axles, locking transfer case, full time four wheel drive with high and low range. Differential protector plates. Dual batteries with a disconnection switch and battery tender connection. Kevlar tires. Rock Sliders.This truck was a labor of love - which we planned to keep forever. However, our plans have taken a turn which means you can get a quintessential English right hand drive Land Rover, built right - without the long wait. Clean VA title.Equally at home in the jungles of Africa delivering supplies to a remote village or the jungles of New York City delivering you to the Opera. A true classic.
