This is a very original 1997 Ford Crown Victoria LX powered by Ford's 4.6L SOHC "modular" V8 and 4R70W automatic overdrive transmission. Originally sold at Kip Killmon's Ford in Tysons Corner, Virginia, the vehicle remained with its original owner in Mclean, Virginia, until 2021. Second owner acquired the car from estate sale, current owner acquired the car in Fall 2022. This is a very original vehicle in excellent condition. It seems clear the vehicle was garaged extensively and used sympathetically and gently by non-smoking owners who didn't have pets or children. The vehicle appears to have driven in very little, if any, weather that included road salt. The frame has only slight surface corrosion and there is no rust on the body. Neither the engine compartment nor the undercarriage have been detailed. POWERTRAIN This car has the High Performance Package (HPP) which includes a true dual exhaust for the Ford 4.6L SOHC V8 as well as revised shift points for the 4R70W automatic overdrive transmission. Current owner performed a full tune up (new spark plugs, spark plug wires, engine air filter, fuel injectors professionally cleaned/tested). Motor starts, idles, and runs as designed. It performs as one would expect from a low mileage original drivetrain. Transmission was serviced with new fluid and filter at approx 79K miles, driveshaft has been balanced, U Joints replaced, and rear differential serviced. Radiator hoses have been replaced as has the intake manifold. EXTERIOR This example has Deep Forest Green metallic paint which shows very well, especially for a 27 year old domestic vehicle. A full paint correction was performed under current ownership and the clear coat shines very well. There are two areas approximately 1.5 inches long on either side of the trunk lid and small areas on the rear bumper that show a slight clear coat weakness, and there are a few dings and minor scratches around the exterior consistent with fully original paint on a car of this age. Door seals, rubber, and trim appear in very good to excellent condition. The BBS-style 16" alloy wheels, a factory item that came with the HPP option package, are very well preserved. The windshield was replaced by the previous owner, and all other glass appears to be original. INTERIOR Optioned with Willow Green leather, the interior shows only minor wear. The carpet appears largely as new, especially in the rear seating area. The original matching Willow Green factory floor mats are in place and free of stains. All power accessories work as designed including the optional auto-dimming rear view mirror, power windows, power locks, interior lighting, digital dashboard, automatic headlights, cruise control, and radio. The automatic climate system works as designed. The A/C was recharged in summer 2022 and has held the charge since then, and blows very cold. CHASSIS The High Performance Package included heavy duty shocks, springs, anti-sway bars, as well as revised tuning for the power steering gears. Extensive work has been done on the suspension by current owner with new front control arms/bushings, steering linkage, tie rods, shocks front and rear, anti-sway bar bushings, and anti-sway bar end links. DOCUMENTATION Items that will come with the car: original window sticker, original Kip Killmons Tysons Ford license plate frame, owners manual and related pamphlets, documentation from original owner verifying vehicle was licensed in Northern Virginia. Numerous service records showing documentation of refurbishment and service in 2021-2024 are available.
