The Z3 Roadster 2.3 has a 2.5-liter, six-cylinder engine that makes170 horsepower while meeting Low Emission Vehicle (LEV)standards. For the 2000 model year, Z3 Roadsters received new L-shapedtaillights with clear turn signal lenses, fully lined tops,re-sculpted rear flanks, and a redesigned center console. Newcolors inside and out spruced up the Z3, as did new alloy-wheeldesigns. The sound system is actually audible at speed, thanks tothe addition of two subwoofers. Analog clocks replaced digitalversions in both the 2.3 and 2.8 models. The 2.3 got standardfour-wheel disc brakes, a limited-slip differential and 16-inchV-rated performance tires. All 2000 Z3s boasted a newleather-wrapped M-Technic sport steering wheel and standard DynamicStability Control, which sensed when the car is veering from itsintended path and selectively modulates engine torque and theantilock brakes to bring the car under control. Driving BMW's Z3 cars is a phenomenal experience. This Z3 2.3Roadster, with its powerful inline six and ventilated front-discbrakes, is a blast. With superb steering and excellent brakes, theZ3 is fun to drive and own. The thrill of open-air motoring in aEuropean two-seater is appealing to anyone who owned a sportylittle convertible while in college - or wanted to.
