This 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 hardtop rolled off the assembly line 20 years ago, in the final year of C5 Corvette production. Painted in Torch Red with the 5.7-liter LS6 V8 under the hood, this Corvette was stored in a climate-controlled garage and remains in “near perfect condition,” the seller states. With upgraded engine components, along with low miles, this Z06 still “runs and drives better than new,” the seller says. The engine modifications helped this Corvette Z06 register 431 horsepower on a dynamometer. FEATURES New, the LS6 5.7-liter OHV V8 pumped out 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.Engine modifications start with the Brian Tooley Stage 3 cam kit.The kit features platinum dual valve springs, titanium retainers, and chrome pushrods.Other mods are high-pressure oil pump, long-tube headers, high-flow catalytic converter.The rocker arm trunnions, timing chain, wires, and spark plugs were also upgraded.Shifting is provided by a Z06-specific Tremec six-speed manual transmission.The current black shifter knob is a Hurst, but the original knob is included.The Z06 Performance Handling Package improved the springs, stabilizer bar, and shocks.Black brake cooling ducts near the rear wheels stand out in the sea of red.This dual-dual exhaust system includes Z06-only titanium mufflers and tailpipes.A metal “Z06 405 HP” plate sits between the dual exhaust tips under the rear fascia.The 17-inch polished-aluminum five-spoke front wheels and 18-inch rears are original.The Michelins were mounted in May 2022.Peeking through the wheels are red brake calipers with Corvette lettering.The all-black interior features sport leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel.Z06 also had a heads-up display, power heated side mirrors, and Memory Package.
