This 2006 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is one of thelater "S" models and benefits from updates made in the middle ofthe model's run. Initially, you could choose between the Vanquishor Vanquish S, but the "S" became the standard in 2006. It receiveda slightly revised front and rear end with an integrated trunk lidspoiler. Additionally, a different, modernized wheel design wasadded to the car and an altered gear ratio allowed the car to hitthe magical 200 mph mark at the top end. 2006 was the final year ofVanquish sales in the United States, and it has become the mostdesirable of all the models. The V12 Vanquish was designed to be a grand touring car, so theinterior design was very important. Aston Martin did notdisappoint, with black hand-stitched leather on nearly everysurface. This example has been fitted with the more heavilybolstered factory sport seats, which hold you in much better thanthe standard units but remain comfortable on long drives. Themetallic finish center stack features an optional integratednavigation system, as well as a set of elegantly machined climatecontrol dials and the CD stereo with a trunk-mounted CD player. Under the hood of the V12 Vanquish S is a 5.9-liter V12 with dualoverhead camshafts that produce 520 horsepower and 426 lb-ft oftorque. The engine can accelerate from 0-60mph in under 5 secondsand has been praised for its sound. Even with the factory exhaust,the noise that this car produces puts any of its contemporarycompetitors to shame. The Vanquish S also implemented the SportsDynamic Package as standard, meaning that the car received stiffersprings, sharper steering, and larger, more powerful brakes. Theseimprovements are more than welcome in this 200mph luxury coupe. The V12 Vanquish is often considered the most beautiful "modern"car from the brand. Even more than twenty years after its debut,the V12 Vanquish still offers impressive performance. With all ofthe "S" upgrades, it can easily compete with far more modern sportscars. Its combination of style, luxury, and a powerful V12 enginemakes the V12 Vanquish a true modern classic, and a car that youcan enjoy driving for years to come.
