There were no issues with the vehicle or the seller.A regular-cab, one-ton, two-wheel-drive dually pickup has become something of a rarity in this era of 4x4 one-ton and 3/4-ton crew cabs. The selling dealer states that this very-original 1988 Ford F350 XLT Lariat Dually Pickup was purchased when such a truck was intended for hard work more than family errands. This truck has a 133-inch wheelbase and a GVW rating of 10,000 pounds. POWERTRAIN The fuel injected, big-block 7.5-liter OHV V8 is original and the dealer says it has "plenty of power,” as it was setup for towing with its five-speed manual transmission and fifth-wheel trailer hitch in the bed. The V8 was rated at 225 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque by the manufacturer when new. The seller says the engine “fires right up and runs great with no present leaks.” He adds that the clutch functions well so the five-speed manual transmission shifts "as it should." According to the Marti Report, this truck is equipped with 3.55:1 gears and was one of only 558 trucks ordered with this engine and transmission combination. EXTERIOR The seller states that there is some minor surface rust in the bed and underneath, "as to be expected from an all-original 1988 Ford pickup." He adds that the two-tone Desert Tan Metallic and Light Chestnut paint has some fading, but he puts a positive spin on the paint condition calling it "great patina." The seller states, "The frame is very clean, as are the rocker panels and cab corners." All the glass is “good, with no leaking seals,” per the seller, who adds that all the lights work. The running boards are aftermarket items. INTERIOR The Chestnut cloth bench seat is in “very good condition,” according to the seller, who adds that the carpet and headliner are also in “good condition.” Both the heater and air conditioner work, as do the gauges, although the fuel gauge sometimes "acts up" regarding the rear tank of the dual tank system. The stock stereo, power windows, and power locks all function properly, per the seller, who adds that the truck has an electronic trailer brake controller. The truck was ordered with a tilt steering wheel and speed control. CHASSIS The seller reports that there are no chassis modifications, and the steering is "as it should be," with no leaks or issues from the power steering. He adds that the shocks and bushings are in “good condition,” and says the brakes "function fine." Regarding rolling stock, the seller says the wheels are in “great condition,” with LT215/85R16 Kelley Edge AT tires, although the rear tires show some signs of cracking. The DOT codes appear to be from 2019. The wheels have chrome simulator covers. DOCUMENTATION The selling dealer states that it will provide a clean and open Pennsylvania title for the proper transfer of ownership for this vehicle. This 1988 Ford F350 XLT Lariat Dually Pickup reportedly spent its entire life in West Virginia prior to landing at the Pennsylvania dealership. The truck has original manuals plus a Marti Report and a Carfax report.
