This 1965 Ford Ranchero has been comprehensively rebuilt and upgraded over the years, starting with a V8 heart transplant that replaced the original six-cylinder engine. It was painted a decade ago, according to the seller, and the wiring system has been redone. Additionally, power steering and front disc brakes were also added, along with a number of other performance and appearance modifications. FEATURES A rebuilt 1977 302-cu.in. OHV V8 has replaced the original six-cylinder engine.The 302 block was overbored 0.030-inch.The engine was fitted with new pistons, a Crane hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft, and more.An Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor is mounted on an Edelbrock aluminum dual-plane manifold.There’s also a Pro Comp distributor, electric fuel pump and an electric cooling fan.The truck had a manual transmission that’s been changed to a C-4 three-speed automatic.The manual shift pedal arrangement was retained, and the clutch pedal is hidden below the carpet.In 2014 the truck was repainted beige with red stripes and accents.Bodywork prior to painting involved replacement of both rear quarter panels.The finish appears in good condition, with a few reported dings.A tonneau cover was fitted on the bed, and it’s also equipped with a rear spoiler.The bed itself was trimmed with wood and stainless-steel retaining strips.The red interior, including the vinyl bench seat, door panels, and carpet appears in good condition.Interior upgrades include aftermarket gauges, a floor shifter, a console with cupholders, and more.Per the seller, the truck has been rewired and the original AM radio modified with FM capability.New speakers were also installed.A GM-style Borgeson power steering system was added.Front disc brakes, from a Ford Granada, were also swapped in.Road Master rear leaf spring “helper” coil springs were added.The Ranchero rolls on 14-inch American Racing wheels and radial tires. COMES WITH Extra paint for touch-ups is available.A bolt-on sun visor for the windshield is included. NEEDS The turn signal cancel feature does not work, and the horn sometimes blows when turning corners. OVERVIEW This classic Ranchero has been restored and customized inside and out.Its original powertrain has been swapped for a 302 V8 and automatic transmission.The exterior was repainted 10 years ago and includes red accent stripes.A red bench-seat interior appears in very good condition and features several upgrades.Additional upgrades include power steering, front disc brakes, and rear “helper” springs. DOCUMENTATION As Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles of this age, the seller states that this vehicle will be sold on the proper document in his name for transfer of ownership.
