This 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Sports Coupe “is a Ram Rod 350 clone (visually) that received a complete body-on-frame restoration,” according to the seller. It’s a factory A/C car that also features custom paint, a new interior, and engine, suspension, and brake mods. FEATURES The seller says, “The engine is not numbers matching.”The 350-cu.in. OHV V8 was rebuilt in 2016, “about 3,500 miles ago.”It was not built to Ram Rod specs but was modified instead.An Edelbrock four-barrel carb and a spacer were installed.Edelbrock’s Performer aluminum intake manifold was bolted on.An HEI distributor replaced the breaker-point unit.A Ram Rod 350-style Force-Air Induction system was added.The dual-exhaust system has Flowmaster mufflers.An aluminum radiator improves cooling.An aftermarket A/C compressor was installed.The A/C system was converted to R134a.Aftermarket cruise control was added.A few underhood parts were chromed.“Push the gas pedal twice and turn the key to start the car,” he says.“It doesn’t smoke and idles as it should.”The two-speed automatic transmission was replaced by an Olds dealer in 1986.It “shifts as it should.”“There was no rust when I got the car and there’s none now,” he says.Originally Teal Frost, the body was repainted before seller bought it.The new scheme is two-tone “Viper Silver over Nissan 350Z Blue.”He asserts that the newer finish rates “a 9++++.”There are “no scratches, dents, or chips.”He adds, “All of the doors and windows work as they should.”“The hood and trunk close as they should.”“The seals were replaced when the bodywork was done.”“There are no leaks.”“The windshield was replaced, and it has no scratches or cracks.”All of the exterior lighting functions.The white vinyl upholstery is from Legendary Auto Interiors.The headliner and carpet were replaced.The stock and AutoMeter gauges, the A/C, and the heater work.An aftermarket steering wheel, console, and stereo were added.Some Hotchkis parts were employed in the suspension upgrades.SSI 14-inch steel wheels were new 10 years ago and are “perfect.”“The tires are approximately three years old,” he saysThe steering wheel “points straight when traveling down the road.”“No leaks or play” are in the power steering system.A power front disc brake conversion was performed.“No issues exist,” but the brake pedal is "a little harder than usual." COMES WITH All parts removed from the car for upgrades come with the sale. NEEDS “There’s a minor rear main oil leak after winter storage.”The seller says, “It stops after the car has been driven in the spring.” OVERVIEW This car was first sold at Skyland Oldsmobile in Ashville, North Carolina.“The original owner had it for many years,” says the seller.“It was then purchased by a gentleman in Syracuse, New York.“He was a dealer, but it was his personal vehicle for many years.”“I purchased it from him about 10 years ago and have had it since.”“I'm 86 years old, have four cars, and have to reduce my collection.” DOCUMENTATION As New York does not issue titles for vehicles of this age, the seller states that this vehicle will be sold on the proper document in his name for transfer of ownership.
