Summary:

Description:

This 1952 MG TD Mark II Convertible was restored about 10 years ago, the seller says. He adds, “It has been driven sparingly, lovingly maintained, and is in very good to excellent condition.” The car has been garage-kept when not in use. The MG-TD replaced the prewar TC in 1949, though production did not get rolling in volume until 1950. Between then and 1953, MG offered a special “tuning” model, which used larger 1.5-inch SU H4 carburetors and higher compression (8.6:1 instead of 7.25:1). The result was a reported 60 horsepower, up from the standard 54. The Mk. II features also included twin fuel pumps, Andrex friction dampers, and a higher final drive ratio. It is believed that under 1,200 of these models were made. It was unofficially called “Mk. II,” although it did not replace the standard model, and the performance upgrades were offered as options on the standard TD. The seller added “Mark II” badges on the hood, though the factory never did. FEATURES This 1952 MG TD Mark II was restored approximately 10 years ago.New, the TD’s upgraded Mk. II model offered improved performance.According to the seller, the car was restored about 10 years ago.Production of the “Mk. II” is believed to be under 1,200 units over three years.
