Restored within the past decade, this 1963 Mercury Comet Custom Convertible is said by the seller to be well sorted and in “turnkey” condition. “The restoration was done to a very high level,” adds the seller, who also notes the car has also received several recent service updates such as a new carburetor, new rear brakes, a new heater core, a cooling system upgrade, and more. “It’s a beautiful car,” says the seller. FEATURES The car is powered by a non-original, later-production 200-cu.in. OHV inline-six.Recent service included replacement of the starter and carburetor.An electronic ignition conversion was made, and an aluminum radiator was installed.The automatic transmission paired with the engine was recently re-sealed.The car was repainted, and the Carnival Red color matches the “J” code on the data plate.The finish appears strong but shows moderate orange peel. It has been ceramic-coated.A bit of wear and aging are seen in some of the exterior trim, while the front bumper is tarnished.According to the seller, the convertible top was replaced during the restoration.It is said to be in "great condition," and the power operation works normally.The red vinyl interior was restored and shows little wear in the carpet or upholstery.The dash pad and instrument panel trim appear in very good shape.The rear brakes and rear axle seals were recently replaced.Radial tires are mounted on the stock 13-inch wheels with full wheel covers.The wheel covers show some wear.
