One of 16,248 Flareside two-wheel-drive examples produced that year, this 1969 Ford F100 Pickup reportedly received a cab- and bed-off rotisserie restoration in 2014. Built in Dallas, and apparently a Texas truck for much of its life, the F100 is finished with an upgraded white oak cargo-bed floor and custom, varnished bed rails. The F100 is attractively optioned with power steering and factory air conditioning that the seller says, “blows cold.” The F100 is unusually equipped with a custom dealer-installed rear bumper that has the dealer’s name embossed into the metal. POWERTRAIN As shown by the code “Y” in the VIN, this F100 is optioned with Ford’s FE-block, 360-cu.in. OHV V8. With a compression ratio of 8.4:1, the engine received its fuel mixture via a two-barrel carburetor and was rated by the manufacturer at 215 horsepower (SAE gross) when new, with 327 lb-ft of torque (also gross). The seller makes no statement as to the engine’s originality, noting that it was rebuilt about 12,000 miles ago. The engine is reported to start readily, without smoke, when the manual choke is engaged. The seller says the Ford C6 automatic transmission “shifts firm.” There are “no active leaks,” other than gasket weeps. The engine bay presents as stock and clean except for some chipped paint on the radiator. EXTERIOR The truck was originally finished in Pebble Beige, as shown by the code “6” on the door tag. The repaint in Winter Blue and Wimbledon White is described as “very good” and believed to date to 2012, with no exterior blemishes noted. No statement about the cab seals is made. The cargo bed appears to have a fresh oaken floor and shows no scrapes, dents, or other imperfections. The short-bed pickup’s bodywork shows no outward damage. All chrome looks to be complete and in very good overall condition. The glass is reportedly “in great condition.” All lights are described as being in proper working order. The underside presents as clean, with minimal surface corrosion confined to the exhaust system. INTERIOR The Parchment vinyl cab interior facings are termed “excellent” and have no tears or other visible damage. The seller describes the cab rubber and the headliner is in “excellent” condition. All interior trim and small controls are said to be complete. The seller notes that the factory temperature gauge does not function properly, and that aftermarket oil pressure and temperature gauges have been installed. The seller makes no statement about the original AM radio’s operability. Both the heater and factory air conditioning are described as being in proper working order. CHASSIS The seller reports that the F100 has undergone no chassis service and has passed a visual inspection. The shock absorbers and bushings “all look to be in used condition with no current need for replacing.” The power steering has no observed leaks. The manual drum brakes “stop and work well.” The steel disc wheels have no observed curb rash. The tires, whose DOT date codes cannot be determined from the photos, are estimated to be at least 10 years old.
