This Mopar is one of the 2,399 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A’s that were released to homologate the automaker’s E-body for SCCA Trans-Am racing. It was “purchased new at Inland Center Dodge in San Bernardino, California,” the seller notes. “It remained with the original owner until it was bought by a friend of mine in 2007. Shortly thereafter, a complete rotisserie restoration brought it back to 99% of its stock configuration." He continues, “The car was finally finished in 2022 and wasn't driven very much. I purchased it in April of 2024 and have driven it approximately 200 miles. It runs and drives like new with no issues and is an excellent collection piece.” This high-performance piece of Mopar history is presented as a numbers-matching machine. The broadcast sheet, fender tags, engine number, and VIN appear to confirm its provenance. FEATURES The seller says the "Six-Pack" 340-cu.in. OHV V8 is “original to the car.”When new, the engine was rated at 290 horsepower.A photo of the partial VIN on the T/A block was provided, and this corresponds to the VIN.A photo of the correct engine casting number is included.“The drivetrain was rebuilt to stock,” per the seller.Three Holley two-barrel carburetors are on an aluminum Edelbrock manifold.The specially configured T/A side exhaust is present.An electronic ignition upgrade was done.The four-speed manual transmission is “original to the car.”So too, is the 3.91:1 Sure-Grip rear axle, per the seller.“This vehicle has spent its entire life in Southern California,” he says.“It was rust free, and the body had never been damaged.”“All its original body panels were maintained during the resto.”It was “repainted in its original color,” code-FK5 Dark Burnt Orange.New T/A stripes and graphics were applied.The T/A front and rear spoilers are present.Characteristic fiberglass scooped hood and hold-down pins are fitted.A small paint chip on the passenger side quarter panel was touched up.The H6K4 Burnt Orange vinyl interior was changed to black vinylRallye gauges and a console are present.The T/A suspension and power front disc and rear drum brakes were restored.Koni shocks were installed.An upgrade to 15-inch Rally wheels and modern radial tires was done.The mileage is believed to be correct. COMES WITH This T/A’s broadcast sheet is included in the sale.The original distributer is also provided.The car still retains its original blue California plates and dealer frames.
