Restored 1972 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Longbed Pickup
Financing:
Summary:
Used 1972 Chevrolet Pick Up 1,000 miles
Location:
Austin, TX
Description:
According to the seller, this 53-year-old, restored 1972 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Longbed Pickup is still a daily driver, handling a three-mile work commute each day. The rear-wheel-drive, half-ton truck is one of 273,249 similar models built on the 127-inch wheelbase that year, which was the last one for second-generation C/K styling. Described as having undergone a bed- and cab-off restoration, this C10 is reported to have a rebuild on its original small-block Chevrolet V8, which has been accessorized. The body is described as “rust free and straight,” with an apparent repaint, and with all rust said to have been remedied by past corrosion repairs. The seller lists a ding from an errant golf ball as the C10’s only notable blemish. POWERTRAIN This C10 is powered by a 350-cu.in. OHV V8, which the seller believes is original to the truck and about 1,000 miles removed from a rebuild. With a compression ratio of 8.5:1, the engine received its fuel mixture via a Rochester four-barrel carburetor and was rated by the manufacturer at 175 SAE net horsepower when new, with 290 lb-ft (also SAE net) of torque. The seller says the engine starts “quickly,” without smoke. The Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed automatic transmission was reportedly rebuilt and “works perfectly.” No powertrain leaks are noted. The engine bay’s accessories include an aftermarket air cleaner, chrome rocker covers, and a chromed alternator. The engine bay presents as clean. EXTERIOR The seller states the age of the Medium Blue and White repaint at approximately one year, and rates the finish as “an 8 to 8.5 on a scale of 10.” Minor leaks around the vent windows, from high-pressure car washes, are noted. The seller states that “lots of rust” was repaired, mainly in one fender and the rockers, with the C10 said to now be “rust-free.” The bodywork shows no outward damage, with the chrome appearing to be complete and in very good overall condition. The cargo bed has a spray-on liner that appears to be in very good condition. The C10’s glass is described as “all original and free of damage.” All lights are reported to be in proper working order with the seller adding new high beam Xenon bulbs to the headlights. The underside presents as clean, with minimal surface corrosion and apparently new stainless-steel dual exhausts with Flowmaster mufflers. INTERIOR The white vinyl bench seat and interior facings are reported to be “all redone.” The seller observes one unspecified tear to the material which he says he is willing to fix. There is no carpet but the C10 reportedly has matching floormats. The cab headliner is described as “all good.” A new seat, new door panels, and a new dashboard have reportedly been installed, with full factory trim. The seller says all instruments including the interior turn indicator. A vintage-look audio system with Bluetooth capability has been installed and is apparently operable. There is no air conditioning, but the heater is said to work. CHASSIS The seller says that new, leak-free shock absorbers have been installed. No leaks, damage, or functional issues are noted. The power steering is reported to be leak-free. The power front disc/rear drum brakes reportedly have new lines and according to the seller, “work perfectly.” The upgraded Rally-style wheels, with chrome hubcaps and trim rings, are said to be free of rash. The 30x9.50R15LT BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires show 2022 DOT date codes. DOCUMENTATION The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Texas title in his name. Check stubs for various items and repairs will be provided. This 1972 Chevrolet C10 half-ton pickup has reportedly undergone a full restoration that includes a rebuilt original engine and automatic transmission.
