The seller, who recently acquired this 2001 Honda GL1500C Valkyrie Tourer, says it had been garaged since new when not in use and believes the mileage shown is accurate. He reports giving the big cruiser and tourer mechanical services to make it roadworthy, including rebuilding the six carburetors, new o-rings in the fuel lines, flushing the cleaning the tank, lubricating all throttle cables, and replacing the clutch slave cylinder. The Tourer model, as offered here, simply added detachable hard case bags and a windshield “The black paint is beautiful, and the chrome is perfect,” the seller says. Even while filling the market with its V-twin Shadow cruisers, Honda could pull out a surprise, in this case the Valkyrie introduced for 1997. Honda had done four-cylinder power cruisers before, but the Valkyrie stepped up to a mildly hot rodded and chromed and polished version of the flat six from the fourth-gen Gold Wing touring bike. Visually and sonically, there was nothing remotely like it. This bike also has an accessory luggage rack. FEATURES This 2001 Honda Valkyrie has its original engine and paint.The 1.5-liter SOHC flat-six was rated at 100 horsepower when new.The seller says the motorcycle has always been garaged when not in use.The 1,894 miles shown are believed by the seller to be accurate.The bike has never suffered crash damage, he states.The chrome appears in good condition.The bike has no rust reported, nor any observed in the photos.The seller reports fully rebuilt carburetors (all six of them).There is a new clutch slave cylinder.The fuel tank has been flushed and cleaned.The fuel petcock was replaced, and all throttle cables lubed.Chrome crash bars protect the side bags.The plastic side covers are chrome instead of the original black.The seller says all switches work.
