1968 Chrysler New Yorker * Survivor!Please read my entire listing!Everything I know of the car is included in my description.Fewquestions I'm often asked....Will this original 56 year old carmake it to California? Although she runs and drives good, it is 56years old. I'd recommened shipping.Does the car use or drip oil.It's 56 years old... yes and yes. Although nothing excessive fromwhat I see.1968 Chrysler New Yorker 4 door hardtop Survivor up forsale!Fun and gets thumbs up all the time!I believe this is color iscalled "Antique Ivory" Code HH5.This car has been a life longIllinois car until last year. Then it came to Nebraska.The car hasa bit over 41,000 miles on it and I think can be proven withreceipts dating until the late 80's when it was parked I believeafter the original lady owners death.I have many old receipts, andthe original owners manual and the original certicard. Originalfender tag still present under the hood!All original paint on thiscar I believe. The painted on pin strip is still evident, though,rubbed / faded off a bit.The car retains I believe, its original440 Engine. Has a quality Edelbrock Carburetor. Not very visablewith the original large air cleaner hovering over it.I did acompression test and it has at lowest 165 to 180 readings. It is anexcellent 56 year old engine!We installed points and plugs,adjusted the carb and she runs very well!Transmission shiftsproperly.Many maintenance items replaced after the car was broughtout of long term outside non climate controlled garagehibernation.Master cylinder, brake components, white wall 14 inchtires, fuel pump, gas tank, sending unit, temp sending unit etc,etc. Muffler is a turbo type muffler.Brakes could use a bleeding,but stops fine.The interior is nice. The seats were tastefull donein a nice black pleated vinyl and carpet was replaced.Headlinervery nice with one small hole.Dash is average / good, dash pad isgood. Door panels excellent.Gas gauge and temperature guage work aswell as speedometer and odometer. Lights, turn signals, dash lightstoo.Glass all good.Bumpers original and need rechromed.Lower bodystainless (?) and / or trim down low is good.Other trim / chromeaverage condition.This is a VERY SOLID CAR!See pics of trunk floorand the few underbody pictures. This is indicative of entire underbody.Looks to be an undercoated and aged surface rust throughoutthe bottom or the car.The paint on the car is average to good. Hashad attempts to buff or polish and it helped.Has rub marks, dings,scratches, small creases, chips, scuffs throughout. Please enlargepictures to see everything.A few body rust spots that are minor.See pictures. Please enlarge pictures to see what I have here!Theexterior roof sail panels, behing the rear door glass, should Ibelieve, be vinyl top material that was glued on when new. Howeverit is a gloss black paint now, amateurly applied. Looks fine.Car isnot a cream puff! An original survivor! 56 years old and mostlyuntouched.Under hood shows age/ wear. See pictures. But all there.Fender tag is present.It runs and drives real good. Car has powersteering and brakes and air. Some of the air conditioningcomponents are in the trunk.Will need installed and serviced if youwant air conditioning.The car has power front seat and powerwindows. All work perfectly with exception of passenger rearwindow.All four corners of the car sit correctly. No excessivesagging in rear, although its one of those big C bodies that, withthe skirts, looks as though it goes on for miles!My car here is atrue survivor. What you see is what it is. No hidden secrets onthis one. No bondo no previous major body work, in my opinion.Youcan drive this car to car shows and restore it to what you reallywant while enjoying it!Not a basket case or a major restorationproject. Drive and show as it sits as a survivor!A repaint andmaybe an engine compartment detail and you'd be set! Interior andmechanics are fine as they are now!The car is sold "as is". Youshould be pleased if your the highest offer.I have a smallcollection of mosly Mopars. Collecting since early to mid80's.Mostly B bodies. I have a Nebraska resale certificate to keepmy hobby above par.I have a clear Nebraska title.Feel good dealingwith me as all paperwork will be handled as per Nebraska law.I'mlocated in Omaha Nebraska, about a mile off I 80.I will assist yourtransporter in loading and will give updates continuouslythroughout, from the time you buy the car to the minute the shipperarrives.Any question you may have that I may have missed, pleasejust ask.
