1973 Buick Riviera GS * Only 3,933 Produced!Only 3,933 1973 RivieraGS models were produced in the last year of the Boattail. Evenfewer with the factory sunroof via American Sunroof Company andcenter console like this all-original survivor. Owned by me since2014, preceded by my dad who had it since the early '80s and soldit to me when he retired and couldn't afford to keep her, since Ihad made him promise to give me first right of refusal if he everdecided to sell. I have very little documentation from before Itook ownership. Odo reads 38,177, but the odo wasn't working when Ibought it from him reading 28,931 so I don't know actual mileage.He only drove it on sunny days attested to by its lack of rustother than minor pitting in the taillight trim (none in the huge,perfect bumper!) and the rally wheels.I immediately had to fix boththe non-functional the odo and the gas gauge just to know when I'drun out of gas (and once fixed I was excited to see it has a littlered grain-of-wheat bulb that illuminates for low fuelcondition--how modern for '73)!Dad had the half-vinyl roof removedand repainted the entire car a similar white to the original color,but he couldn't remember exactly what year. It shines brightly witha good hand-wax; surprising in a paint job from back when clearcoat was not yet a thing. Dash is excellent; seats good togreat.I've done small maintenance and break-fixes to keep herroadworthy and have receipts. Only non-std parts are Pertronixignition (hides in the distributor maintaining stock look), yellowAccel plug wires (because they look neat) and Flowmaster Delta 50mufflers on stainless dual exhaust. I couldn't allocate enoughfunds while helping the kids through college and I'm not mechanicalenough to fix the 2 significant, (but parts exist!) inoperativesystems: the sunroof that was off the chain (motor still works withdash switch) and the non-working ac (all of it still there, though,and the heat and controls do work), but those never bothered me!Since I never was out in rain, and with the power windows down andsunroof slid back by hand, I could hear the clean executive powerof the 455 through the dual Flowmasters, and it was great everytime.Only parting with her because all discretionary income is nowgoing into a motorhome for us to visit the kids now scatteredacross the contiguous states!
