ALL ELECTRIC CAR.Motor originally out of a Hyster forklift- will run forever. Curtis 1209B controller, sitting on a large aluminum heat sink. 6- 12v deep cycle batteries, most of which are less than one year old. Two batteries in front where the gas tank was, two behind the rear seat, two in back beside the motor. So the rear seat still thereThe motor is attached to the transmission with a Lovejoy connector, so there is no clutch. I usually just run it in 4th gear, although you could start in 2nd, then shift into 4th later. You just have to wait for the rpm's to match. The only drawback is that reverse is really jumpy. This could be fixed by using a reversing solenoid rather than using the reverse gear on the car's transmission, but I haven't bothered. Current top speed is about 45 mph, with a range of about 15 miles. The range could be improved greatly if you changed to bigger batteries. I would recommend Trojan T1275's. All battery boxes are made to fit these larger batteries
