If youre looking for the coolest off-grid Class B out there, then youre search has ended. Small but mighty, this custom RV is ready for your snowboarding trip to Montana or your months long stay in the Mojave desert. Built on the Ford Transit 350HD XLT passenger base, I designed and built this technological beast from the ground up for true off-grid living in extreme environments. To start, multiple layers of high tech automotive Thinsulate line the sidewall and roof panels, supplemented with Reflectix lining in air spaces. Thinsulate/Reflectix panels cover the windows and can be removed to allow in tons of light. The floor is lined with foam pads atop dense foam automotive insulation. A custom Mylar heat shield can be hung to thermally separate the front cabin and further increase heating/cooling efficiency. And thats just the start off the vans tech. 400W of rooftop solar lead to a whopping 4000Wh of solar generators. You wont find any other Class B with that capacity (below $250K!). Go ahead and look. Ill give you a minute. Combine that with a small gas generator (not included) and you can be off-grid for months. If you are at a campground, you can use the convenient 15/30A shore power hookup. Heating and cooling the RV is a breeze. For extreme cold, use the propane catalytic heater. A 5lb tank is included for space savings but you can connect your 20lb tank for longer trips. (Propane and CO sensors installed) To simply take the chill out on cool nights, you can use the infrared electric heater. An air conditioner in the rear storage area cools the van in mere minutes. Or you can remove it for cold weather trips and save the weight. Cant do that with rooftop air! A Maxxfan Deluxe rounds out the system. (New, weatherproof motherboard installed) As for practicality, this RV has all the amenities. Full kitchen includes sink, electric hot water heater, fridge/freezer, microwave, and InstaPot. Another chest fridge/freezer included in the storage area provides unmatched food storage capacity. Water system includes a 10 gal fresh tank and 15 gal gray tank. All filling and dumping connections are completely inside the vehicle (no external hookups) to avoid freezing in extreme cold. Fresh/gray pumps and quick disconnect fittings make everything a breeze. Plenty of counter space and storage between the main counter and island. Custom drawers and slide-outs add extra convenience. All doors in the kitchen (and entire van) have slam latches to keep everything in place on bumpy roads. There are two shower setups. The inside one is comprised of a modular shower bay, shower curtain, and handheld shower head that quick connects to the sink and has an overhead mounting bracket. The hot water heater provides instant hot water and has an on/off plug to conserve energy. The pop-up outside shower includes a gas water heater and additional 5 gal fresh water tank. Other features include a super comfortable memory foam Queen bed, bench seating with slide-out restroom (new, unused), vinyl flooring and wall panels, and 32 monitor/TV that rotates over 180 degrees. The massive under-bed storage area will be your best friend during full-time van life. Easily store your clothes, supplies, bikes, skis, etc. Bright LED lighting in main cabin and storage area. And if youre tall like me, the interior height is a whopping 6 6! The best of any van. Also, all doors have slide hinges so you can remove them for better access. As for reliability, this van cant be beat. When I bought the base van 4 years ago, it was in excellent condition. My mechanic raved about it. I have lived in it full-time these past years and have babied it - driving like a Grandma and meticulously maintaining it. You wont have to do anything except plan your first adventure. Tires have 80% tread in rear and 60% in front. Rear brakes are brand new and fronts have only 20K. The engine is in fantastic shape and has at least another 150K in it. It purrs like a kitten and gets 20+ mpg! Ive also replaced all of the Transit problem child issues - ABS tone rings, throttle body, catalytic converter, and coolant tank. This great RV can do it all (and has!) and is a fantastic value. Really look hard at other custom and manufactured builds that are listed. Some may look pretty but its only skin deep. They wont have any advanced tech or quality below the surface. Ive been off-grid in extreme places for months at a time and there are few RVs that can perform like this one. Im also including over $500 in tools and parts. So schedule a tour today before its gone. And so you know, the only reason Im selling is because Im buying a boat. #VanLifeToBoatLife P.S.
