Series 2 RS Turbo Project F reg, 88 Spec car in Mercury Grey 144K Runs & drives The car is complete bar a stereo. It’s had some modifications, the cars sporting a K&N air filter & a scorpion exhaust system (receipt from ‘97) along with a performance cam & an updated turbo. It’s also fitted with a rear strut brace & ARIC smoked rear lights (rare these days) & clear indicators on the front. It does appear to be lowered although could be from sitting. Cars also fitted with a alloy radiator & Intercooler as well as a Sam Co silicone hose kit. The car had been sat for 6 years on concrete so it’s served it fairly well, it ran when it was parked. I’ve taken it home, poked the fuel pump & added a new battery & it’s now back running again, sounding very healthy. No issues with the metering unit side of things, the car has had braided fuel lines apparently as well as brake lines I’m told. The engine was rebuilt prior to sitting, it will want a cam belt & service as expected but to start after that long shows it’s a good lump. The cars had 6 owners which is relatively low given the age and the fact it’s an RS. Two previous owners are known to me, one is local & the other I tracked down via Facebook. It’s certainly no rot box, the battery tray is still present but showing surface rust (I’ve poked it & it’s solid). It may want a rear arch, it will want patches in the front floors and one or two other bits I’d imagine - rears of the sills will want some attention but overall it’s fairly solid, if you’re handy with a welder it wouldn’t be long before you’d have it back on the road. The paintwork wants attention, front end is fairly good but the back end hasn’t faired so well in the sun. I’d say it wants a outer respray, it deserves one really. In terms of history the car has the second bill of sale from when first owner sold it, every tax disc from 1991 to 2013 as well as all mot certificates from 1993 to 2006 (none for 2007) then the certificates from 2008.
