This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe is said by the seller to “run and drive very nice and turn heads everywhere." The Chevelle has been slightly modified with a cowl induction hood and Super Sport stripes, along with modern 18-inch wheels and low-profile tires. POWERTRAIN The seller believes the engine is the original 350-cu.in. OHV V8 that “also matches the Protect-O-Plate.” She points out that the engine is an "H" code small-block as designated by the fifth digit of the VIN. Chevrolet rated H-code 350s at 165 horsepower (SAE net) with a two-barrel carburetor. The seller says the engine has had 5,000 miles of use since its last rebuild but no rebuild details were provided other than to say it "cranks perfectly from a cold start with no smoking or leaks." The column-shifted Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission "shifts great," in the seller's opinion. EXTERIOR The body of this Chevelle is “rust-free,” according to the seller, who calls the light gray paint a "single stage matte finish with some imperfections" but no body blemishes. The glass and seals are said to be good with no scratches, cracks, or leaks, per the seller. The provided photos show Super Sport style stripes on the deck lid and an SS-style cowl induction hood, although the fender emblems still display "Malibu 350." All the lights work with new LED bulbs, per the seller. INTERIOR The interior features a green vinyl bench seat that the seller describes as "very clean" with no cracks or tears. The headliner is rated as being in “great condition” with no sagging and the carpet is “new,” per the seller, who adds that all the gauges work and the stereo has been upgraded with Kenwood components. A Sunpro Super Tach II has been mounted under the dashboard and the steering wheel is an SS item. The heater works, per the seller, but the car doesn't have air conditioning. The windows and locks are manually operated. CHASSIS Steering play is "very little", according to the seller, who adds that the power steering doesn't leak. She adds that there are no issues with the bushings, shocks, or brakes. The 225/45ZR18 (front) and 275/40ZR18 (rear) Achilles tires have a reported 250 miles of use and are mounted on US Mags alloy wheels with black centers and polished rims. The 15-inch Cragar S/S wheels shown in some of the photos are also available, per the seller. DOCUMENTATION The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Mississippi title in her name.
